During a site download

The website address and addresses of discovered files are sent to the Zipasite server. The server requests those public files and streams them to your browser. The source site receives those requests from our server.

Your browser builds the ZIP and saves it to your chosen location or prepares a download in memory. Progress and download notes stay in the open tab. Completed archive storage is handled on your device.

Download records

Zipasite keeps a private operational record when your browser reports a saved archive or starts a ZIP download. The record contains the source domain, time, a random download ID, page and file counts, ZIP size, download-note count and saving method. Source paths, query strings, visitor identifiers and IP addresses stay out of this record.

These records help us understand service use and diagnose download problems. They are stored on the Zipasite server, separately from optional Google Analytics. Daily log files cover the latest 30 calendar days; older files are removed when the next record is written. Each daily file has a 10 MB limit. Browser-reported records describe the save action; the Download ZIP button starts a browser download whose final disk status stays with your browser.

Technical information

The hosting service may process connection information, including IP addresses, request times, paths and response codes, to serve and protect the application. Its logging settings determine how long those records remain. The application temporarily caches robots.txt rules to reduce repeated visits.

Browser features

The landing page uses local styles and fonts. A saved website can contain its own scripts, including services that connect to the internet when opened online.

Optional analytics

If you choose Accept analytics, Google Analytics receives information about your visits to Zipasite, including page views, visit duration, browser and device information, approximate location and website download events. Download events contain page and file counts, ZIP size, download-note count and saving method. Analytics cookies help recognise visits from the same browser. Google processes this information to provide usage reports.

The Google tag loads after your consent. We send Zipasite page paths and referring website origins. Download addresses, form fields, URL query strings and fragments stay out of our analytics events. Advertising features are disabled.

Your analytics choice is stored in this browser for 180 days. Analytics cookies also have a 180-day lifetime. Use Cookie settings in the footer to review your choice or withdraw consent. Reject analytics stops collection and removes the analytics cookies set by Zipasite in this browser. Google may process data internationally. When you contact us

Email sent to zipasite@gmail.com is processed through Gmail. Your message, email address and any details you include help us answer your request or review an abuse report. Include the information relevant to that purpose.

Your choices

You can stop a download, close the tab, remove saved files from your device and contact us about information you have shared. For access, correction or deletion requests, email zipasite@gmail.com with enough detail to identify the request.
